 About  Fritz  Dreisbach


Fritz Dreisbach lives on Whidbey Island and works in his glass studio and Freeland Washington. Pilchuck Glass School presented their 2015 Brychtová/Libenský Achievement award to Fritz, “acknowledging his extraordinary talent and high achievement in the world of contemporary glass.”

Dreisbach has been titled: “artist-in-residence” by numerous prestigious institutions including in Germany, Turkey and the U. S. Notably, the Toledo, Ohio’s Museum of Art chose him to celebrate the opening of their new Glass Pavilion in August 2006. The museum also awarded him their first “Guest Artist Pavilion Project” residency.

Crowned the “Johnny Appleseed of Glass” by his peers, Fritz has provided hundreds of lectures and demonstrations spanning 60 years, in over 190 distinct institutions, throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

Dreisbach’s glass is represented in over 56 global, public collections – including those in Corning, Hsinchu, Kamenicky Senov, Frauenau, Rotterdam, Smithsonian, Toledo, “… all the usual suspects!”
